Ajit Rekhy is a multifaceted entrepreneur, community leader, and lifelong learner with a talent for turning ideas into impactful ventures. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance and a Master’s in Defence and Strategic Studies, reflecting her diverse academic achievements and analytical skills.
After a 15-year career in banking in Toronto, Ajit moved to Sarnia to pursue new opportunities. She is co-owner of Sitara Indian Cuisine, a restaurant renowned for its authentic Indian flavors, exceptional service, and community connections. Ajit’s role as the operations manager includes overseeing business development, community outreach, and event coordination, ensuring Sitara remains a beloved fixture in the local dining scene.

Ajit’s passion for community engagement is evident in her contributions as a Board Member of the Children’s Aid Society and the Indo-Canada Association, as well as her active involvement with Seaway Kiwanis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she channeled her creativity to connect people by originating the “View from My Window” Facebook page, which encouraged individuals to share glimpses of their worlds while staying safe at home. This initiative brought comfort and a sense of community to many during uncertain times.
